We often separate our spiritual life from our academic life. We think prayer is for church and studying is for the library. Daniel 2 shatters that separation. Daniel faced an academic test, a test of knowledge and interpretation. Where did he find the answer? In a prayer meeting. The key to your next breakthrough in the lab, the solution to your writer's block, and the strategy for your business project may be waiting for you in the presence of God. God is not only the God of salvation. He is also the God of wisdom. He knows the answer to the test. He knows the cure for the disease. He understands the future. When we invite Him into our studies, we move from Chaldean effort--guessing and stressing—to Daniel excellence: revelation and peace. Do not leave your brain at the door of the prayer closet. And do not leave your faith at the door of the classroom. Bring them together.
Action Point
Take your hardest textbook or your current project. Lay it open before God. Place your hands on it and pray, "Lord, You know the secrets of this subject. Reveal what I need to learn. Teach me what I do not know."
Prayer Point
Father, I confess that I have tried to do this in my own strength. I repent of relying only on my own understanding. I bring my studies to You. Shine Your light on my work. Make me ten times better because I am connected to the Source.
