Daniel 5:1-4
1 Later, King Belshazzar held a great feast for a thousand of his nobles, and he drank wine with them. 2 Under the influence of the wine, Belshazzar gave orders to bring in the gold and silver vessels that Nebuchadnezzar his father had taken from the temple in Jerusalem, so that the king could drink from them, along with his nobles, his wives, and his concubines. 3 Thus they brought in the gold vessels that had been taken from the temple, the house of God in Jerusalem, and the king drank from them, along with his nobles, his wives, and his concubines. 4 As they drank the wine, they praised their gods of gold and silver, bronze and iron, wood and stone.
Belshazzar made a fatal mistake. He treated the holy vessels of the temple as ordinary cups. He thought he could use them for his party and put them back. But God does not take kindly to the misuse of what is holy. As a student, you have been given a gift more precious than gold cups. You have been given a mind. You have the capacity to think, create, solve, and learn. That mind is a vessel entrusted by God. When you fill it with trash, you are doing what Belshazzar did. When you use your intelligence to cheat, you dishonor the vessel. But when you study with integrity, you are offering worship. When you discipline your focus, you are polishing the gold. Student success begins with reverence for the ability to learn. It begins when you say, “God, this mind is Yours. I will not dull it with laziness. I will not tarnish it with sin. I will sharpen it for Your glory.”
Action Point
Identify one habit of distraction, such as checking your phone every five minutes, that is dulling your focus. Commit to staying away from that habit during your study hours this week.
Prayer Point
Father, I thank You for the gift of my mind. I ask You to sanctify my thoughts. Help me to use my intelligence to bring You glory. Keep me focused when the world wants me to be distracted.

If God looked at how I used my time and my mind yesterday, would He say I treated them as holy vessels or as common tools for entertainment?
