8 O LORD, we are covered with shame—our kings, our leaders, and our fathers—because we have sinned against You.
You are not a prisoner of your past. You are not bound by the mistakes of your friends. You are not trapped by the educational struggles of your family. Daniel looked at the kings, leaders, and fathers of his people. He saw their failure and shame. But he did not let their failure define his future. He brought it all to the Lord.
