Build siege ramps against hard subjects

Daniel 11:15-19

4 The weapons of our warfare are not the weapons of the flesh. Instead, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.

2 Corinthians 10:4

Bible Reading

Daniel 11:15-19

15 Then the king of the North will come, build up a siege ramp, and capture a fortified city. The forces of the South will not stand; even their best troops will not be able to resist. 16 The invader will do as he pleases, and no one will stand against him. He will establish himself in the Beautiful Land, with destruction in his hand. 17 He will resolve to come with the strength of his whole kingdom, and will reach an agreement with the king of the South. He will give him a daughter in marriage in order to overthrow the kingdom, but his plan will not succeed or help him. 18 Then he will turn his face to the coastlands and capture many of them. But a commander will put an end to his reproach and will turn it back upon him. 19 After this, he will turn back toward the fortresses of his own land, but he will stumble and fall and be no more.

God has equipped you to keep moving toward victory. You may be looking at a syllabus that terrifies you. The subject matter seems dense, the professor seems strict, and the exams seem impossible. In Daniel 11, a king came, built up a siege ramp, and captured a fortified city. He did not quit or run away. He worked systematically. You also need academic siege ramps. You cannot conquer a semester of calculus or advanced history in one night of cramming. You conquer it by studying for one focused period every day. You conquer it by doing practice problems when you are tired. You conquer it by asking questions in class. The Holy Spirit gives you divine power to demolish strongholds of ignorance, fear, and confusion. Do not be intimidated by the thick walls of your assignments. Keep building steadily, with God’s help.

Action Point

Identify the class that feels like a fortified city to you right now. Schedule twenty minutes of focused, uninterrupted study time for that class every day this week, starting today.

Prayer Point

Lord Jesus, thank You for giving me divine power for my studies. Please help me build strong daily habits to conquer my hardest classes. Remove anxiety and fill my mind with clarity and understanding. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Reflection Point

What daily siege ramp do I need to build against my hardest subject? Am I willing to conquer it through steady discipline instead of last-minute panic?
