Finish your course and rest
7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
2 Timothy 4:7Bible Reading
Daniel 12:13
13 But as for you, go on your way until the end. You will rest, and then you will arise to your inheritance at the end of the days.”
The book of Daniel is filled with terrifying beasts, global conflict, and intense spiritual pressure. It can feel like the most stressful final exam week imaginable. But look at the final verse of the book. God does not end with panic. He ends with a personal and peaceful promise: “But as for you, go on your way until the end. You will rest, and then you will arise to your inheritance at the end of the days.” What a beautiful conclusion to Daniel’s journey. As you pursue academic excellence, you will face difficult semesters. You will battle pressure. But you must keep the final goal in mind. God does not want you to finish your degree with a broken spirit. He wants you to walk your unique path faithfully. He wants you to study with integrity, and He also wants you to rest. You do not have to compare your journey to everyone else’s. If you are faithful in the classroom, you can trust God with your future. Close your textbooks tonight with peace. Walk toward the finish line with your head held high. The God who holds eternity also holds your academic journey.
Action Point
Write the phrase “I will go my way and rest in God” on a sticky note. Place it on your mirror. Every time comparison or career anxiety rises, read it out loud and return to peace.
Prayer Point
Lord, thank You for the promise of rest and inheritance. Forgive me for comparing my academic journey to others. Help me to walk my path with integrity, and give me Your peace as I finish my course. Amen.
Reflection Point
Am I studying with the anxiety of someone trying to build my own empire, or with the peace of a child who trusts the Father’s inheritance?
