Fireproof your future
2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you go through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched; the flames will not set you ablaze.

1 King Nebuchadnezzar made a golden statue sixty cubits high and six cubits wide, and he set it up on the plain of Dura in the province of Babylon.
We spend a lot of time trying to future-proof our careers. We learn the latest software. We earn degrees. We network with the right people. We want to be safe. We want to be secure. But Daniel 3 teaches us that true safety is found in becoming fireproof. And you do not become fireproof by avoiding every fire. You become fireproof by walking with the Fourth Man. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were successful men in Babylon. They had titles. They had skills. But their greatest asset was not their resume. It was their relationship with God. When the system turned against them, their resume could not save them. Their network could not save them. Only their God could save them. Student success is more than accumulating knowledge. It is developing the spiritual substance to survive the fires of life. It is building character that cannot be burned. It is developing trust that cannot be shaken. So as you study for your future career, do not study books only. Study God. Learn His voice. Learn to trust Him in the small fires of today—the difficult assignment, the financial tight spot. These are training grounds. If you learn to walk with Jesus now, you will not panic when bigger fires come in your career. You will say, "I have been here before. My God is with me." That is true success. It is the confidence that no matter how hot the furnace gets, you can come out on the other side, promoted and carrying the aroma of victory.
Action Point
Take a moment to fireproof your day. Read a Psalm, such as Psalm 23 or Psalm 91, before you check your phone or email. Put on the armor of God before you step into the academic arena.
Prayer Point
Lord, I want to be fireproof. Build in me a faith that can withstand pressure. Be the Fourth Man in my life, every hour of every day.

Am I building only a resume that looks good on paper, or am I building a life that can stand the test of fire?
