Planting golden seeds

Proverbs 8:19

7 Do not be deceived: God is not to be mocked. Whatever a man sows, he will reap in return.

Galatians 6:7

Bible Reading

Proverbs 8:19

19 My fruit is better than gold, pure gold, and my harvest surpasses choice silver.

Imagine a farmer who spends the entire spring sitting on his porch playing video games. He never plows the field. He never drops a seed into the dirt. But when autumn arrives, he walks out to his barren field and gets angry at God because there is no corn. We would call that farmer foolish. Yet thousands of students do the same thing every semester. They skip lectures. They ignore reading assignments. They spend hours scrolling through their phones. Then, when finals week arrives, they panic and pray for a miracle. They get angry when their grades are terrible. Proverbs 8:19 presents the beautiful, unbreakable law of the harvest. Wisdom says, "My fruit is better than gold, pure gold, and my harvest surpasses choice silver." Education is an agricultural process. Your mind is the soil. Every time you open a book, you drop a golden seed into the dirt. Every time you review flashcards, you water the crop. It takes time. It takes patience. You will not see the results overnight. But if you plant the good seeds of discipline and focus, a harvest will come. And the harvest of an educated mind is worth more than gold. Stop expecting a harvest you did not plant. Grab your plow, open your books, and start sowing seeds of excellence today.

Action Point

Identify one class where you have been acting like the lazy farmer. Today, plant a seed. Spend one full hour reading ahead or organizing your notes for that class. Water the soil of your mind.

Prayer Point

Lord, You established the beautiful law of sowing and reaping. Forgive me for expecting a harvest without putting in the hard work. Give me the discipline to plant seeds of excellence every day in my studies.

Reflection Point

If you continue with your current study habits, what kind of harvest will you reap at the end of this semester? Do you need to change the type of seeds you are planting today?
