Daniel 5:13-16
13 So Daniel was brought before the king, who asked him, “Are you Daniel, one of the exiles my father the king brought from Judah? 14 I have heard that the spirit of the gods is in you, and that you have insight, intelligence, and extraordinary wisdom. 15 Now the wise men and enchanters were brought before me to read this inscription and interpret it for me, but they could not give its interpretation. 16 But I have heard about you, that you are able to give interpretations and solve difficult problems. Therefore, if you can read this inscription and give me its interpretation, you will be clothed in purple and have a gold chain placed around your neck, and you will be made the third highest ruler in the kingdom.”
One day, your name will be called. It may be by a professor, a supervisor, or a board of directors. They will have a problem they cannot solve. They will look at you and ask, “Are you the one we heard about?” Daniel was ready for that moment. He walked into the banquet hall, not as a victim, but as a servant of the living God. He knew who he was. He knew who his God was. He knew God could give him the answer. Student success is about living ready. It means doing your work so well that you are not shocked when a test comes. It means building a reputation for reliability, so that when a crisis comes, you are the person people call. Do not hide in the back of the class. Prepare yourself to stand at the front. A hard question is waiting. Will you be ready to answer?
