The second touch of strength
11 The LORD gives His people strength; the LORD blesses His people with peace.
Psalm 29:11Bible Reading
Daniel 10:18
18 Again the one with the likeness of a man touched me and strengthened me.
Have you ever tried your hardest, failed, received encouragement, tried again, and still felt too weak to continue? Academic burnout is rarely cured by one good night of sleep or one inspiring conversation. Restoration often happens through a patient, ongoing process. Daniel 10 shows this beautifully. Daniel was depleted. He received help and was able to speak, but he still confessed his weakness. God did not scold him for not recovering quickly enough. The messenger touched him again and strengthened him. This is the patient grace of God. He knows that recovering from a bad semester, mastering a difficult subject, or overcoming test anxiety may require repeated help. He can restore your focus, rebuild your confidence, and strengthen your resolve again and again. Do not despise slow recovery. Keep bringing yourself to God and take the next faithful step.
Action Point
If you recently failed an exam or missed a deadline, do not stay in guilt. Ask God for a second touch of strength. Set aside 15 minutes today to sit quietly, pray, and begin one practical step toward recovery.
Prayer Point
Lord, thank You that Your grace is patient and persistent. When my motivation fails and my energy drops, strengthen me again. Give me steady courage. I refuse to give up, because You continue to help me.
Reflection Point
Why am I often impatient with my own progress? How does God's willingness to strengthen me again change the way I approach academic setbacks?
