The shout in the street

Proverbs 1:20-23
20 Wisdom calls out in the street, she lifts her voice in the square; 21 in the main concourse she cries aloud, at the city gates she makes her speech: 22 “How long, O simple ones, will you love your simple ways? How long will scoffers delight in their scorn and fools hate knowledge? 23 If you had repented at my rebuke, then surely I would have poured out my spirit on you; I would have made my words known to you.
We often think God whispers. Sometimes He does. But Proverbs 1 says Wisdom shouts. She cries out in the busy streets. She stands at the city gates. What does this mean for you? It means the answers you need are not hidden. They are often right in front of you. Why do we miss them? Because we are tuned to the wrong frequency. We are tuned to "Simplicity FM"—the station that plays "Easy Life" and "Do the Minimum." Wisdom is broadcasting on "Excellence AM." She is saying, "Turn here. There is a better way. Correction can open the way to understanding." If you are struggling in a class, stop and listen. The solution may already be calling to you. Maybe it is the professor saying, "This will be on the test." Maybe it is the syllabus saying, "Read Chapter 4." Maybe it is the Holy Spirit saying, "Put the phone down." Do not ignore the shout. Respond to correction. When you turn toward wisdom, the floodgates of understanding begin to open.

Identify one warning sign you have been ignoring, such as a bad quiz grade or a confused feeling in class. Turn toward it today. Address it. Begin to fix it.
