The strategic mind
15 Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk, not as unwise but as wise,
Ephesians 5:15Bible Reading
Proverbs 2:11
11 Discretion will watch over you, and understanding will guard you,
The best offense is a good defense. In academics, you are constantly challenged by distractions, bad advice, laziness, and false ideas. How do you survive? You survive with discretion. Discretion is more than being careful. It is strategic thinking. It is the ability to play the movie forward. It is the chess player who sees five moves ahead. The discreet student says, "If I skip this class, I miss the review, which means I may fail the midterm." So they go to class. God wants to give you this strategic mind. Proverbs 2:11 says discretion will watch over you and understanding will guard you. When you walk onto campus, you are not defenseless. You have the armor of a sound mind. You can spot a trap before you step into it. You can see a bad grade coming and swerve before it hits. Ask God for discretion. Ask Him to make you a strategist. Let wisdom watch your back.
