Proverbs 2:12
12 to deliver you from the way of evil, from the man who speaks perversity,
We live in a world of spin. Marketers spin products. Politicians spin facts. Sometimes fellow students spin the truth. They say, "Cheating is not wrong; it is just collaboration." They say, "You do not need to study; you just need to know people." Proverbs 2:12 calls this speaking perversity. It is speech that takes straight truth and bends it until it breaks. It is dangerous. If you listen to it, you will crash. God gives wisdom as a distortion detector. When you are filled with God's Word, you have a standard. When someone hands you a crooked line, you put it next to God's straight ruler, and you see the curve. You say, "That is false. I am not following that." This saves you. It saves your grades, your reputation, and your soul. Today, turn on your detector. If it sounds twisted, do not buy it.
