1 Peter 3:16

Bible Reading

Daniel 6:4-9

4 Thus the administrators and satraps sought a charge against Daniel concerning the kingdom, but they could find no charge or corruption, because he was trustworthy, and no negligence or corruption was found in him. 5 Finally these men said, “We will never find any charge against this Daniel unless we find something against him concerning the law of his God.” 6 So the administrators and satraps went together to the king and said, “O King Darius, may you live forever! 7 All the royal administrators, prefects, satraps, advisers, and governors have agreed that the king should establish an ordinance and enforce a decree that for thirty days anyone who petitions any god or man except you, O king, will be thrown into the den of lions. 8 Therefore, O king, establish the decree and sign the document so that it cannot be changed—in accordance with the law of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be repealed.” 9 Therefore King Darius signed the written decree.

Have you ever tried to find a flaw in a diamond? You need a magnifying glass. The enemies of Daniel took out their magnifying glasses. They looked at his work. They looked at his conduct. They looked at his habits. They wanted to destroy him. They were desperate to find one mistake, one lie, or one act of negligence. And they found nothing. Not one legitimate charge. What a testimony. The BSB says Daniel was “trustworthy.” He did not cut corners. He did not arrive late and leave early. He did not misuse what was entrusted to him. He was secure because his life was clean. As a student, your integrity is one of your most valuable assets. Grades can change. Diplomas can be replaced. But your character follows you. When you cheat, you hand a weapon to your enemy. When you lie, you dig a pit for yourself. But when you walk in integrity, you walk securely. You can sleep at night. You do not have to remember your lies because you did not tell any. Let your academic work be so clean that even your critics have to admit that you are faithful.

Action Point

Do an integrity audit on your current schoolwork. Is there any source you have not cited? Is there any assignment you copied? Fix it today. Confess it if you need to. Clean the slate.

Prayer Point

Lord Jesus, make me a student of integrity. Let my “yes” be “yes.” Keep me from the temptation to cheat or cut corners. Let my life be an open book that glorifies You.

Reflection Point

If my worst enemy graded my life today, what would they find? Am I giving the devil a foothold through negligence?
