Daniel 7:1
1 In the first year of the reign of Belshazzar over Babylon, Daniel had a dream, and visions passed through his mind as he lay on his bed. He wrote down the dream, and this is the summary of his account.
Daniel had a profound experience. He saw a vision of the future. It was heavy and complex. What was one of his responses? He wrote. He did not just sit and think. He engaged his hand. He engaged his pen. He turned the vision into a record. The BSB says, "He wrote down the dream, and this is the summary of his account." This is one secret of the diligent student. Writing helps learning. When you write, you tell your brain, "This matters." You move information from passing attention into deeper memory. Many students struggle because they remain passive. They sit back and watch the lecture like a movie. But a lecture is not a movie. It is a mine. You must dig. The pen is your pickaxe. Extract the gold. Write the summary of the matter.
