Bible Reading

Daniel 6:11-15

11 Then these men went as a group and found Daniel petitioning and imploring his God. 12 So they approached the king and asked about his royal decree: “Did you not sign a decree that for thirty days any man who petitions any god or man except you, O king, will be thrown into the den of lions?” The king replied, “According to the law of the Medes and Persians the order stands, and it cannot be repealed.” 13 Then they told the king, “Daniel, one of the exiles from Judah, shows no regard for you, O king, or for the decree that you have signed. He still makes his petition three times a day.” 14 As soon as the king heard this, he was deeply distressed and set his mind on delivering Daniel, and he labored until sundown to rescue him. 15 Then the men approached the king together and said to him, “Remember, O king, that by the law of the Medes and Persians no decree or ordinance established by the king can be changed.”

There are times in your academic career when the system seems stacked against you. The professor may not understand you. The financial aid rules may be rigid. The deadline may feel impossible. You may feel like Daniel. The law says, “Throw him into the pit.” The king says, “I cannot help you.” It is a lonely place. But look at Daniel. He did not panic. He knew there was a Higher Court. There is a Supreme Judge who outranks Darius. When you are excellent and faithful, you have an appeal process the world does not understand. Daniel’s enemies thought they had him cornered. They thought the law was airtight. But they forgot that God specializes in breaking locks. Do not let human rules discourage you. Do your best. Appeal if you can. But if the answer is no, trust God for the miracle. Your grade is not your god. Your degree is not your savior. God is your Savior. And He can turn the worst policy into a powerful testimony.

Action Point

Identify one rule or obstacle that is blocking your success right now, such as a prerequisite course or a fee. Pray over it. Ask God to intervene where the king cannot.

Prayer Point

Father, I appeal to the Court of Heaven. The rules are against me, but You are for me. Overrule the decrees of the enemy. Make a way where there is no way.

Reflection Point

Am I trusting in the "system" to save me, or am I trusting in the Savior?
