Mark 4:39Bible Reading

The semester is in full swing. Assignments are piling up. Exams are looming. Your roommate is loud. Your bank account is low. The winds are blowing. The sea is churning. You feel like you are about to drown. Daniel saw this kind of stormy picture in his vision. He saw the four winds of heaven churning up the great sea. But Daniel was not lost inside the chaos. He was receiving perspective from God. You can be in the middle of an academic storm and still be safe. Peace is not the absence of assignments. Peace is the presence of God in the middle of them. Peace is knowing that the winds obey your Father. When the beasts of anxiety and failure try to rise, you have an anchor. You have a Savior who walks on water. Do not stare at the waves. Look to the One who measures the waters in the hollow of His hand.
Action Point
Set a timer for five minutes. Close your eyes. Picture your current stress as a stormy sea. Then picture Jesus stepping onto the water. Hand Him your stress. Breathe. Return to your work with a quiet spirit.
Prayer Point
Lord, silence the noise. Quiet the winds. Let Your peace guard my mind and heart as I study. I refuse to be ruled by the waves.
Reflection Point
Am I letting the chaos of my schedule dictate my inner peace? How can I anchor myself in God today?
