Friend, have you ever sent a text message and seen the other person typing before you finished your thought? It shows attention. They are listening closely. That gives us a small picture of how God listens to a humble heart. Daniel was still in the middle of his prayer. He was confessing his sin and the sin of his people. He was presenting his petition before the Lord. And while he was still speaking, heaven was already moving. When you are sitting at your desk, overwhelmed by a failed test, you do not need a perfect prayer to get God's attention. Be honest. "Lord, I messed up. I wasted time instead of studying. I confess my laziness. Please help me with this chemistry chapter." While you are still speaking, God can begin to help you. He can untangle confusion, renew your energy, and guide you to the next wise step. Do not hide your academic sins. Confess them openly. Present your coursework to God as a holy assignment. The God who hears while you are still speaking is ready to help you today.
