Wake up to excellence
14 So it is said: “Wake up, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”
Ephesians 5:14Bible Reading
Daniel 12:2
2 And many who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake, some to everlasting life, but others to shame and everlasting contempt.
The alarm clock rings, and the temptation to hit snooze is strong. We all know the desire to stay in the comfort of sleep. But in our academic lives, staying asleep is dangerous. Daniel 12:2 speaks of resurrection. Many who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake, some to everlasting life and others to shame and everlasting contempt. This verse is a serious wake-up call for our character and our work ethic. It reminds us that our choices matter before God. When you choose to skip class, ignore your reading, or cheat on an assignment, you are walking toward shame. It may feel easy in the moment, but the long-term fruit is painful. But when you choose to wake up, study with focus, and maintain integrity, you are choosing a better path. You are forming a character that honors God. Let the reality of eternity shape how you view your homework today. You are not just writing an essay. You are building a life of faithfulness, diligence, and excellence.
