The vault of the mind

Proverbs 2:1

11 I have hidden Your word in my heart that I might not sin against You.

Psalm 119:11

Bible Reading

Proverbs 2:1

1 My son, if you accept my words and hide my commandments within you,

Imagine you have a safe deposit box in a bank. It has thick steel walls. You only put precious things there. You put diamonds there. You put deeds there. You do not put candy wrappers there. Your mind is that vault. Solomon tells us to accept wisdom and "hide" God's commands within us. He is telling us to treat wisdom like treasure. As a student, what are you putting in your vault? Are you filling it with social media trivia? Are you filling it with worries? Or are you storing the knowledge you need for your future? When you sit in class, you are mining for gold. When you read your textbook, you are cutting diamonds. Take that knowledge and lock it away in your mind. Value it. Success comes to the student who has a full vault. When the exam comes, you unlock the door. You pull out the answer. It is there because you put it there. You kept it safe. Today, decide to be a keeper of knowledge. Do not let it slip away. Store it deep.

Action Point

Identify one key concept from your studies today. Write it on a card. Memorize it. Repeat it five times. Hide it in your vault.

Prayer Point

Lord, make my mind a safe vault for Your truth and for my studies. Help me to value what I learn. Help me to keep it safe.

Reflection Point

Is my mind cluttered with distractions, or is it organized with treasure? What do I need to clear out to make room for wisdom?
