The power in your hand

Proverbs 3:27-30
27 Do not withhold good from the deserving when it is within your power to act. 28 Do not tell your neighbor, “Come back tomorrow and I will provide”—when you already have the means. 29 Do not devise evil against your neighbor, for he trustfully dwells beside you. 30 Do not accuse a man without cause, when he has done you no harm.
You might feel like a cash-strapped student. You might feel powerless. But Proverbs 3:27 says there is good within your power to do. You have the power to smile. You have the power to listen. You have the power to explain a concept to a confused friend. You have the power to share your lunch. Solomon says, “When you have power to act, do not withhold good.” There is a temptation in school to hoard. We think, “If I help them, they might get a better grade than me.” That is a scarcity mindset. In God’s Kingdom, you never lose by giving. When you open your hand to help a neighbor, you also open your heart to God’s work in you. Be a generous student. Do not wait for tomorrow. Do it today. Your generosity is a seed for your future.

Find one person today who is struggling academically or emotionally. Use the power in your hand to do one concrete thing to help them.
Prayer Point
Lord, show me the power I have. Show me the needs around me. I choose to be a giver, not a hoarder. I will not delay. I will be a blessing to my neighbor today. Amen.
