Proverbs 3:11-12
11 My son, do not reject the discipline of the LORD, and do not loathe His rebuke; 12 for the LORD disciplines the one He loves, as does a father the son in whom he delights.
No one likes the red pen. When you get a paper back covered in red ink, your heart sinks. You feel judged. You feel inadequate. But Proverbs 3:1112 asks us to see correction through different eyes. It asks us to see the red pen as a love letter. Solomon says, “My son, do not reject the discipline of the LORD.” Why? Because discipline proves we are loved. A faithful teacher corrects the student they believe can grow. God corrects you— through a grade, a challenge, or a closed door—because He delights in you. He is refining you. He is making sure you do not graduate with errors in your character or your thinking. Discipline is the guardrail that keeps you on the road to destiny. Without it, you could drive off the cliff. So the next time you face a setback or a hard critique, do not get bitter. Do not quit. Say, “God is treating me as His child. He is getting me ready for something greater.”

Father, thank You for loving me enough to correct me with truth. I accept Your discipline. I embrace Your correction. Mold me into a vessel of honor. Use my setbacks to prepare me for true excellence. Amen.
