11 I will guide you in the way of wisdom; I will lead you on straight paths.
There is a way of wisdom. It is a marked trail. It has been walked by many faithful students before you. Solomon says, “I will lead you on straight paths.” Success leaves clues. Success has a pattern. The pattern involves discipline, curiosity, and integrity. When you try to make your own reckless trail—by procrastinating, cheating, or ignoring advice—you get lost. You get scratched by the thorns of failure. But when you stay on the path, you gain momentum. The path of wisdom has been cleared for you. Your professors have laid out the syllabus. Your textbooks have laid out the chapters. Trust the path. Walk in it. It may feel restrictive, but it is actually the path of freedom. It leads toward the graduation stage.
