The ladder to the top

Proverbs 4:8

6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, so that in due time He may exalt you.

1 Peter 5:6

Bible Reading

Proverbs 4:8

8 Prize her, and she will exalt you; if you embrace her, she will honor you.

Everyone wants a promotion. Everyone wants to be the boss. Everyone wants the corner office. But not everyone wants to read the book. Not everyone wants to write the paper. Solomon gives you the secret: prize wisdom. Lift wisdom in your daily priorities. Make study one of the most important appointments of your day. When you treat wisdom like a queen, she treats you with honor. She opens doors. She builds competence. She puts your name in rooms you have not entered yet. Do not look for shortcuts. The elevator to success is broken; you have to take the stairs. The stairs are built of books, lectures, assignments, and exams. Climb them. Embrace the climb. The view from the top is worth the effort. Your future honor depends on your present embrace of wisdom.

Action Point

Identify one extra-credit opportunity or optional reading in your hardest class. Do it. Prize the subject by doing more than required. Watch how it changes your confidence.

Prayer Point

Father, I choose to honor the process of learning. I will not complain about the workload. I see it as my ladder to promotion. Give me strength to climb. Elevate me in due season for Your glory. Amen.

Reflection Point

Am I trying to get promoted by charm or by competence? Charm fades; competence lasts.
