13 Hold on to instruction; do not let go. Guard it, for it is your life.
Picture a storm. You are holding a rope that leads to safety. The wind is howling. The rain is stinging. Your hands are slipping. What do you do? You squeeze tighter. You hold on to instruction. Solomon says instruction is your life. The winds of distraction will blow. The storms of stress will come. People may tell you it is not worth it. They may tell you to let go and drift. Do not listen. Grip the rope. Grip the instruction. That syllabus, textbook, and lecture can become part of your lifeline to a future of impact and abundance. If you let go, you drift toward mediocrity. If you hold on, you are pulled toward higher ground. Your future self is calling to you: “Do not let go.” Be the student with the iron grip.

Is there a class you are thinking of dropping? Pause before you do. Hold on to instruction. Talk to the professor. Get a tutor. Seek wise counsel. Make a plan to rescue the grade if it can be rescued.

Father, I dig my heels in. I wrap my hands around Your truth and my studies. I will not be shaken. I will not quit. Give me the grip of a champion. Amen.
