14 Do not set foot on the path of the wicked or walk in the way of evildoers.
The most powerful word in your student vocabulary may be “No.” “No, I will not skip class.” “No, I will not copy your homework.” “No, I will not go out tonight.” Solomon pleads, “Do not set foot on the path of the wicked.” He is teaching you the art of refusal. Many students fail not because they lack intelligence, but because they lack boundaries. They have FOMO, the fear of missing out. They follow the herd over the cliff. But you are called to be a leader. Leaders walk their own path. Leaders are willing to be unpopular when obedience requires it. The path of the wicked may look fun. It may look easy. But it is a trap. It leads to regret. Stay on the sidewalk of success. It may be less crowded, but the destination is glorious.
Action Point
Practice saying no. Look in the mirror and rehearse your refusal: “I cannot. I have to study.” Make it your default answer to distractions.
