5 Suddenly another beast appeared, which looked like a bear. It was raised up on one of its sides, and it had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. So it was told, ‘Get up and gorge yourself on flesh!’
The bear in Daniel's vision was told, "Get up and gorge yourself on flesh!" The image is sobering. It is not a call to cruelty or selfish ambition. But as a student application, it reminds us that serious learning requires appetite. You cannot be a successful student with a tiny hunger for growth. You must be hungry for answers, hungry for wisdom, hungry for graduation, and hungry to glorify God with your diligence. Too many students wait to be spoon-fed. They only read what is required. They only ask when they are already failing. That is not excellence. Excellence hunts for understanding. It reads the recommended books, not only the required ones. It asks extra questions. It stays a little longer with the hard problem. Throw the full weight of your focus into your studies today.

Identify one topic in your major that you do not fully understand. Tonight, pursue it with focus. Read three articles on it. Watch a strong teaching video on it. Do not stop until you understand the main point clearly.

Lord, give me a holy hunger. I am tired of being passive. I want to be active. I want to grow. I want to conquer my coursework for Your glory. Strengthen me to study the hard subjects with diligence and joy.
