Daniel 7:1
1 In the first year of the reign of Belshazzar over Babylon, Daniel had a dream, and visions passed through his mind as he lay on his bed. He wrote down the dream, and this is the summary of his account.
When you are in the middle of the ocean, the waves look huge. They crash over you. You feel as if you are going to drown. That is what the beginning of Daniel 7 feels like. Four beasts. Chaos. Winds. It can feel like exam week. It can feel like financial aid trouble. It can feel like loneliness. But then the camera shifts. Daniel 7:9 says, “As I continued to watch, thrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took His seat.” Suddenly, we are not in the ocean anymore. We are in the courtroom. And in the courtroom, the beasts look small. They are judged. They are destroyed. The message is clear: perspective changes everything. If you look at your studies from the perspective of stress, you will panic. If you look at them from the perspective of the Throne, you will have peace. The Judge is your Father. The Victor is your Savior. The Kingdom is your inheritance. The beasts are temporary noise. Stop looking at the waves. Look at the Throne. The Ancient of Days has the final say.

Find a “throne room” place on campus—a quiet chapel, a park bench, or a corner of the library. Go there when you feel overwhelmed, and remind yourself who is truly in charge.
Prayer Point
Ancient of Days, I center my life on Your throne. I look away from the waves and look to You. Thank You that You judge righteously. I rest in Your sovereignty.
