5 Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or turn from them.
Everything in life has a price tag. Success has a price tag. Solomon calls to us, “Get wisdom, get understanding.” The idea is active. Acquire it. Pursue it. You are at the market of life with a currency called time. You also have a currency called focus. What are you buying? Some students buy distraction. They spend their time on things that rust and fade. The wise student buys understanding. They trade one more hour of leisure for one more hour of learning. It may feel like a loss in the moment, but it is an investment. You are buying a future of influence. You are buying the ability to solve problems. Do not be stingy with your effort. Spend energy on your books. Spend focus on the lecture. The wisdom you acquire today will pay dividends for the rest of your life. It is one of the few things that grows in value over time.

Identify one concept in your major that still confuses you. Decide to get understanding today. Spend 30 minutes researching it until you own it. Do not stop until it becomes clearer.

Father, I am ready to pay the price. I invest my time and energy in my studies. I trade comfort for Your wisdom. Grant me the understanding I seek. I will not leave this season empty-handed. Amen.
