Don't stub your toe
12 Once again, Jesus spoke to the people and said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.”
John 8:12Bible Reading
Proverbs 4:19
19 But the way of the wicked is like the darkest gloom; they do not know what makes them stumble.
We have all done it. You walk through the house at night. Bang! You hit your toe on the coffee table. It hurts. Why did it happen? Because you could not see. Solomon says the way of the wicked is like the darkest gloom. They do not know what makes them stumble. A student walking in darkness keeps running into deadlines, failed tests, and trouble. They may call it bad luck. But often it is bad lighting. When you do not study, you turn the lights off. You walk blind into the exam. But when you prepare, you flip the switch. You can see the furniture. You can navigate the room. You do not stumble as easily. Stop blaming the furniture. Turn on the light. Study. Prepare. Pray. Walk in the illumination of diligence.
Action Point
Identify one class where you feel in the dark. Make a plan to visit the professor’s office hours this week. Go turn on the light.
Prayer Point
Father, I refuse to walk in darkness. I am a child of the day. Give me foresight to see problems before they hit me. Light up my path with Your Word. Amen.
Reflection Point
What excuse am I using to cover up my lack of preparation?
