23 Guard your heart with all diligence, for from it flow springs of life.
Imagine you are the security guard of a bank. Your job is to watch the door. You do not let robbers in. You do not let vandals in. Solomon says you are the security guard of your own life. The vault is your heart. Inside that vault are your potential, your peace, and your focus. Every day, thieves try to enter. The thief of “I cannot do this.” The thief of “This is boring.” The thief of “It does not matter.” If you let them in, they will rob your motivation. They will vandalize your dreams. You must be diligent. Stand at the door of your mind and check every thought’s ID. If a thought does not align with God’s truth or your academic goals, kick it out. Do not negotiate. Guard your heart with all diligence. Your entire future flows from what you protect today.
Action Point
Set a thought alarm. Every time you catch yourself thinking a negative thought about school—such as, “I am going to fail”—say, “Stop,” in your mind. Replace it with truth: “With Christ’s help, I can take the next step.”
Prayer Point
Father, I receive the peace of God to guard my heart and mind. I reject every lie of the enemy. My heart is a sanctuary of wisdom and hope. I will protect it with diligence. Amen.
