Don’t take the bait
26 Then they will come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, who has taken them captive to his will.
2 Timothy 2:26Bible Reading
Proverbs 7:21-23
21 With her great persuasion she entices him; with her flattering lips she lures him. 22 He follows her on impulse, like an ox going to the slaughter, like a deer bounding into a trap, 23 until an arrow pierces his liver, like a bird darting into a snare—not knowing it will cost him his life.
The saddest picture in Proverbs is the ox. It is big, strong, and capable of work. But it is walking calmly to its own death. Why? Because it was led. It yielded. You are like that ox. You have strength. You have a mind. You have potential. But if you let distraction lead you, you will walk into a trap that destroys your future. The enemy uses fair speech. He tells you that you have plenty of time. He tells you that you are stressed and deserve a break. He tells you that cheating is collaboration. These are lies. They are the path to the slaughterhouse of your dreams. Wake up. See the knife. Turn around.
Action Point
Identify one area where you are yielding today. Is it your wake-up time? Your reading? Stop yielding. Push back.
Prayer Point
Lord, open my eyes. I refuse to be the ox. I refuse to be the bird in the snare. Give me wisdom to see the trap and strength to walk away. In Jesus’ name.
Reflection Point
Am I leading my life, or am I being led by my impulses?
