The danger of drifting
15 Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk, not as unwise but as wise,
Ephesians 5:15Bible Reading
Proverbs 7:6-9
6 For at the window of my house I looked through the lattice. 7 I saw among the simple, I noticed among the youths, a young man lacking judgment, 8 crossing the street near her corner, strolling down the road to her house, 9 at twilight, as the day was fading into the dark of the night.
Solomon watched a young man who had no plan. He was just walking. He was passing through. And because he had no destination, he ended up at the wrong destination. He ended up at the house of death. Many students fail not because they want to fail, but because they do not plan to succeed. They drift. They let the day happen to them. They let the semester happen to them. Then suddenly, it is twilight. Exams are here. They are lost. You must stop drifting. You must grab the steering wheel of your life. You must set a course.
Action Point
Map out your entire day for tomorrow, hour by hour. Give every hour a destination. Do not drift.
Prayer Point
Lord, give me a compass. Give me a map. Let me not wander into failure. Direct my steps to the house of wisdom. In Jesus’ name.
Reflection Point
If I keep walking the way I am walking now, where will I end up?
