The danger of the microphone

Daniel 7:11-12
11 Then I kept watching because of the arrogant words the horn was speaking. As I continued to watch, the beast was slain, and its body was destroyed and thrown into the blazing fire. 12 As for the rest of the beasts, their dominion was removed, but they were granted an extension of life for a season and a time.
The little horn had a microphone. It spoke to the world. It boasted. It challenged heaven. And because of those arrogant words, judgment fell. We live in an age of microphones. Social media gives every student a platform. You can post your complaints. You can post your boastful selfies. You can announce your brilliance. But be careful. Daniel 7 says the beast was judged while the horn was speaking arrogant words. God hears your posts. He hears your cafeteria conversations. Are you building a tower of Babel, or are you building an altar of praise? True excellence does not need to shout. The lion roars, but the Ancient of Days sits, and fire flows from His presence. Let your work speak. Let your grades speak. Let your kindness speak. Put down the microphone of pride.

Go through your social media. Is there any post that sounds like the “little horn”—arrogant, boastful, or mocking? Delete it.
Prayer Point
Lord, tame my tongue. Tame my typing fingers. Let my words be acceptable in Your sight. Save me from the pride that leads to destruction.
