Taming the monster

7 After this, as I watched in my vision in the night, suddenly a fourth beast appeared, and it was terrifying—dreadful and extremely strong— with large iron teeth. It devoured and crushed; then it trampled underfoot whatever was left. It was different from all the beasts before it, and it had ten horns. 8 While I was contemplating the horns, suddenly another horn, a little one, came up among them, and three of the first horns were uprooted before it. This horn had eyes like those of a man and a mouth that spoke words of arrogance.
The fourth beast was terrifying because it was different. It looked like a machine of destruction. It had large iron teeth and a mouth that spoke "words of arrogance." In your academic journey, you will face monsters: a 50-page thesis, a difficult committee, a brutal exam, or the voice of your own inadequacy. You may hear intimidation whisper, "You cannot do this. You are not smart enough." But remember, the beast is only part of the vision. It is not the end. The beast is loud, but God is sovereign. Do not be impressed by the iron teeth of your problems. Do not be mesmerized by the arrogant words of fear. You have a weapon the beast does not have: the name of Jesus. The beast crushes, but Jesus restores. The beast tramples, but Jesus lifts. Listen to the voice of the Spirit, not the roar of intimidation.

Write down the arrogant words of fear in your mind, such as "I will fail" or "I am not enough." Next to each one, write a truthful, Scripture-shaped response. Then cross out the fear and choose obedience.
Prayer Point
Father, I silence the voice of the accuser. I silence the little horn of doubt. I choose to listen to Your voice. Give me the strength to stand against the iron pressure of this world.
