12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne. And books were opened, and one of them was the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their deeds, as recorded in the books.

Daniel 7:9-10
9 As I continued to watch, thrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took His seat. His clothing was white as snow, and the hair of His head was like pure wool. His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all ablaze. 10 A river of fire was flowing, coming out from His presence. Thousands upon thousands attended Him, and myriads upon myriads stood before Him. The court was convened, and the books were opened.
We stress about transcripts. We worry about GPA and what an admissions officer will see. But Daniel 7 reminds us of the Ultimate Transcript. The Ancient of Days takes His seat. "The court was convened, and the books were opened." This is not meant to make you panic. It is meant to center you. If you study for the applause of people, you will live anxious. People are fickle. Their standards change. But if you study before the Ancient of Days, you stand on solid ground. His holiness is perfect, and His grace covers us in Christ. Still, students of excellence should care about the record of their lives. We want our work to pass the test of integrity. We want to be able to say, "Lord, I did my best. I wrote every essay as if You were the professor."
Action Point
Look at your current grades or work performance. Ask yourself: "If God were grading this, what would He say about my effort and integrity?" If there is an area of slackness, tighten it up today.
Prayer Point
Lord, I want my life to be an open book that brings You glory. Help me to study with the fear of the Lord. Let the fire of Your presence purify my motives.

Am I living for the resume or for the eulogy? Am I living for the temporary record or the eternal book?
