Daniel 8:19-22
19 and said, “Behold, I will make known to you what will happen in the latter time of wrath, because it concerns the appointed time of the end. 20 The two-horned ram that you saw represents the kings of Media and Persia. 21 The shaggy goat represents the king of Greece, and the large horn between his eyes is the first king. 22 The four horns that replaced the broken one represent four kingdoms that will rise from that nation but will not have the same power.
When Daniel first saw the vision, it was terrifying and strange. A ram had uneven horns. A goat moved with great speed. At first, it made no sense. Then Gabriel stepped in and brought clarity. He explained that "the twohorned ram" represented "the kings of Media and Persia," and that "the shaggy goat" represented "the king of Greece." Suddenly, the mystery became understandable. You will experience this in school. You may open a textbook on quantum physics, ancient philosophy, or another difficult subject, and it may feel like a zoo of confusing symbols. Do not panic. Many complex subjects are simple truths stacked together. Your job is to decode the symbols. Look up definitions. Break long paragraphs into short, clear sentences. Pray for the Holy Spirit to give you clarity. Do not use big words to hide confusion. Strip away the jargon. Find the simple truth underneath. When you seek clarity over complexity, you can master the material and grow as an excellent student.

Take one paragraph from your hardest textbook that you do not understand. Rewrite it in your notebook using the simplest language possible, as if you were explaining it to a ten-year-old child.

Father, thank You that You are a God of light and clarity, not confusion. Please help me decode the difficult subjects in my classes today. Give me a sharp mind to cut through jargon and find the simple, beautiful truth hidden in my textbooks.
