Bible Reading

Proverbs 2:16

16 It will rescue you from the forbidden woman, from the stranger with seductive words

Proverbs 2:16 gives a warning about the forbidden woman, the stranger with seductive words. Temptation uses smooth speech. It does not say, "Come ruin your life." It says, "Come have fun." It does not say, "Come fail your exam." It says, "You have studied enough. You deserve a break." It flatters you. It tells you that you are special and that the rules do not apply to you. As a student, you are sailing toward a destination: graduation and excellence. There are sirens on many rocks. Some relationships want to wreck you. Some addictions want to sink you. Wisdom is wax in your ears. It blocks the song. It saves you from the crash. Do not negotiate with the siren. Do not listen "just a little bit." Steer the ship away. The music is a lie. The rocks are real.

Action Point

Identify one siren song in your life, such as a person, an app, or a habit. Put a physical barrier between you and it today. Block the number. Delete the app. Change the routine.

Prayer Point

Lord, I shut my ears to the voice of the enemy. I will not be seduced by laziness or lust. I steer my ship toward Your will.

Reflection Point

What "smooth words" have I been listening to that are causing me to drift?
