Proverbs 2:20
20 So you will follow in the ways of the good, and keep to the paths of the righteous.
There is an old saying: "Show me your friends, and I will show you your future." Proverbs 2:20 puts it this way: follow in the ways of the good and keep to the paths of the righteous. Why? Because excellence is contagious. If you stay around people who complain about studying, you will start complaining. If you stay around people who love to learn, you will start loving to learn. If you stay around people who pray, you will pray. God did not design you to be a solitary scholar. He designed you to be part of a convoy. The paths of the righteous are well-worn tracks made by those who have gone before you. Find them. Walk in them. Do not settle for friends who only entertain you. Look for friends who sharpen you. Look for good men and righteous women on your campus. They may be in the library. They may be in the chapel. Find them. Stick to them. Your success depends on it.

Lord, surround me with kingdom community. Give me friends who push me toward You and toward excellence.

Am I the "good man" or "righteous woman" that others are looking for?
