The best friend you never knew you had

Proverbs 7:4

17 I love those who love me, and those who seek me early shall find me.

Proverbs 8:17

Bible Reading

Proverbs 7:4

4 Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,” and call understanding your kinsman,

Who is your best friend? Who has your back? Solomon suggests that wisdom should be that companion. Imagine walking into your hardest class —maybe physics or calculus—and instead of feeling dread, you felt like you were meeting your sister for coffee. How would that change your performance? Fear blocks learning. Love opens the mind. When you decide to treat a subject as a friend, you lower your defenses. You become curious. You ask questions. You stop fighting the process and start enjoying the conversation.

Action Point

Identify the subject you fear most. Today, spend 15 minutes reading only the introduction to the chapter. Try to find something interesting. Introduce yourself to the subject.

Prayer Point

Lord, take away the spirit of fear. Give me a spirit of love for knowledge. Let wisdom be my closest companion. In Jesus’ name.

Reflection Point

Why am I afraid of failing? Is it because I treat the subject like a monster instead of a mentor?
